Meet Kalie
I know exactly how overwhelming and exciting it feels to consider moving abroad — because I’ve been there.

After living in 5 countries since 2009, my family and I were exhausted from trying to figure out which place could actually give us the life we wanted.
The endless visa research, conflicting advice online, and fear of making the wrong choice kept us spinning our wheels for years.
When we finally made the move to Porto, Portugal in 2020, we discovered what we'd been desperately searching for — but the path there wasn't easy.
We had to navigate the entire visa process completely on our own. And that cost us months of stress and thousands of dollars in mistakes.
That's why we created this training. We've helped hundreds of Americans cut through the confusion and make informed decisions about their European move without the headaches we went through.

Kalie was incredible! Without using her service, I really don't think we would have been accepted. There is so much misinformation out there and the entire process can be very confusing! She was extremely responsive and really handheld us through the process. I cannot thank her enough!

IF I CAN DO IT... SO CAN YOU I'm happy to share my personal experience and heartfelt thanks to Josh and Kalie for producing their class on how to exactly, step by step, manage and execute the process of obtaining your D7 visa for relocating to Portugal from the U.S. Many people my age are just plain scared to tackle this process and yes, even though it was stressful at times, it certainly doesn't require retaining a lawyer from a foreign land to ensure your success. Kalie's diligence in keeping detailed records and notes throughout their own D7 visa process while in Florida, in addition to her time management skills, set her on the path to produce the best, most straightforward and easy to understand "how to obtain a Portuguese D7 Visa Youtube class", that's beyond affordable and easy to follow. She even gave us tips and suggestions on where to find little necessities along the way, like where to purchase money orders inexpensively. She removes all the guesswork out of it.

FAQs
How do I qualify for a visa in Portugal?
There are a few options to consider when moving abroad, and Portugal offers long-term visas from the D7 passive income visa, to the D8 digital nomad visa, and then there are Golden visa options as well, though these have been changing very recently.
Qualifying for a Portuguese visa will depend on many factors. While there are visas for students and entrepreneurs, the most common visas are for those with passive and active incomes. Depending on the source of the income will depend on which visa you qualify for. There are also other financial requirements to consider when applying, such as opening and funding a Portuguese bank account.
Questions? As a relocation specialist, I would encourage you to connect with me here.

When should I seek relocation assistance if or when I am planning to move overseas to Portugal?
I highly recommend looking into international relocation services early on in the process. Timing will depend on your personal situation and a few other variables.
That being said, I highly recommend looking into international relocation services early on in the process.
Why? It’s important to go at a comfortable pace as you tackle this new adventure. Many of the requirements and parts of the application take time as well.
It’s not unrealistic to start one year in advance from your intended departure date. If you’re looking to move within the next 6 months then it’s time to start now.
Can I meet you in person?
Possibly! As a relocation specialist with a white glove international relocation company centered around assisting US expats moving to Portugal with an all-in-one relocation solution, I am proud to be an expat living in Portugal and I do often travel to the United States.
If you work with Slate & Key, you will of course be speaking often with me and once you arrive in Portugal, I would love to meet you in person.
Where do I start when I don’t know what to do about my children’s schooling?
Planning your child’s future can feel stressful, especially if you’re not already in the country. The good news is that with Portugal, you have options.
The main options to consider are public, private, and international. Every child and family is different and will have different needs.
I will help you navigate what is best for you and how that affects your overall move such as timeline, school applications, proximity to the right school, etc.
How do I find a place to live that’s affordable and safe?
Housing is most likely going to be a requirement for your visa application so this is something we work very closely with you on.
It’s important to land in a safe and comfortable accommodation. Since we are boots on the ground, not only will we assist in navigating through the whole process with finding a location and securing a lease, but we will be sure to visit the accommodation for you before you commit.
What do I do if my visa application is rejected?
Before getting started, we will ensure that you qualify for the visa you are applying for. Our legal team will be sure you have the accurate and proper documentation to avoid any sort of rejection.
If for some reason you are rejected, our legal team will appeal the process for you.
How do I travel with my pets, especially if they do not fly well?
Flying with pets doesn’t have to be daunting. Nowadays, there are options to not fly in the typical way you’re thinking. For example, you have chartered flights to actually sailing instead of flying.
I know your options and will present them to you and how to safely move your pet to his/her new home. As a pet lover myself, I know they are part of the family, and the goal is to move the whole family in the most comfortable way possible.

Should I buy new things when I arrive, or should I ship to Portugal?
This is something we will price compare and analyze. Timing will be important to avoid import taxes.
If you have special heirlooms or memories then you might want to ship. There are also alternatives to shipping which we can discuss.
So this will depend on what you would like and what works best for you. It’s of course a conversation we will have and I can help you think through what works best for you.
